Ingredients

Steaks
  • 2 ribeye, sirloin, or New York strip steaks 1–1½ inches thick
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly ground
Garlic Butter
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 0.5 tsp salt or to taste

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Tongs
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. Remove steaks from the refrigerator and let them rest at room temperature for 20–30 minutes for even cooking.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (205°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  3. Pat steaks dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season evenly with salt and black pepper.
  4. Place steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them for proper airflow.
  5. Air fry for 9–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until steaks reach desired doneness.
  6. While steaks cook, combine softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt in a bowl. Mix until smooth.
  7. Remove steaks from the air fryer when they are 5°F below target temperature and let rest for 5 minutes.
  8. Top each steak with garlic butter, allow it to melt, then serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use steaks at least 1 inch thick and always rest before slicing to retain juices.
