Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 4 oz burrata cheese torn
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 1 tsp olive oil optional
  • 2–3 leaves fresh basil optional
  • flaky sea salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Spatula
  • Knife

Method
 

  1. Butter one side of each bread slice evenly.
  2. Place one slice butter-side down in a skillet. Add burrata and season lightly.
  3. Top with second slice, butter-side up.
  4. Cook over medium-low heat 4–5 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  5. Rest briefly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Cook low and slow to avoid burning while warming the burrata.
