Ingredients
  

Base
  • 1 cup unsweetened milk almond, oat, or dairy
Herbs
  • 1 tsp dried chamomile flowers or 1 tea bag
  • 0.5 tsp dried culinary lavender buds
Flavorings
  • 1 tsp raw honey or maple syrup to taste
  • 0.5 tsp pure vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Warm milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat until hot but not boiling.
  2. Add chamomile and lavender. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Strain out the herbs.
  4. Stir in honey and vanilla. Adjust to taste.
  5. Pour into a mug and enjoy warm before bed.

Notes

Use culinary-grade lavender only. Steep time affects strength—start shorter if sensitive to flavors. Best enjoyed 30-60 minutes before sleep.
