Ingredients

Tea Base
  • 2 Earl Grey tea bags or 2 tsp loose leaf
  • 1 cup boiling water
Cherry & Milk
  • 0.5 cup fresh or frozen cherries pitted (or 3-4 tbsp cherry syrup)
  • 0.75-1 cup milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 2-3 tbsp sweetener to taste
  • ice cubes for iced version
  • 0.25 cup cooked tapioca pearls optional

Equipment

  • Teapot or heatproof mug
  • Small saucepan or microwave
  • Muddler or fork
  • Tall glass (for iced)

Method

  1. Steep Earl Grey tea in boiling water for 4-5 minutes. Remove bags or strain.
  2. Muddle fresh cherries with sweetener (or add cherry syrup). Stir into hot tea.
  3. Warm milk gently if making hot version. Pour into tea mixture.
  4. For iced: Cool tea-cherry base, fill glass with ice (add boba if using), pour tea then milk.
  5. Stir, taste, adjust sweetness or cherry flavor. Garnish and serve.

Notes

Brew tea stronger for iced version to account for dilution. Use tart cherries or juice for best balance against bergamot. Best enjoyed fresh.
