- Line 9x9 pan with parchment and lightly grease.
- Brown the butter in a large pot over medium heat until golden and nutty.
- Add marshmallows and melt on low heat, stirring until smooth.
- Remove from heat; stir in lemon zest, juice, extract, salt, and optional coloring.
- Fold in Rice Krispies quickly until coated.
- Press into pan gently. Cool 30-60 minutes, then cut into squares.
Notes
For chewiest texture, don't over-press and use fresh marshmallows. Browned butter adds amazing flavor—don't skip it!
