Ingredients
  

Chicken Wonton Filling
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 green onions finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp white pepper
Wontons
  • 30 wonton wrappers
Spicy Chili Sauce
  • 3 tbsp chili oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
Garnish
  • 2 tbsp green onions chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp roasted peanuts crushed
  • 0.25 cup cilantro optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl

Method
 

  1. Combine ground chicken, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper.
  2. Place 1 teaspoon filling in each wonton wrapper and fold to seal.
  3. Whisk chili oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, garlic, and sesame oil for the sauce.
  4. Boil wontons in water for 3–4 minutes until they float and are cooked through.
  5. Transfer cooked wontons to a bowl and toss with chili sauce.
  6. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, crushed peanuts, and cilantro before serving.

Notes

You can freeze uncooked wontons and cook directly from frozen for an easy meal later.
