Ingredients
  

Apple Filling
  • 6-7 apples peeled, cored, sliced
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold, cubed

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking dish.
  2. Mix sliced apples with sugars, spices, lemon juice, flour, and vanilla.
  3. Spread apple mixture evenly in the baking dish.
  4. Combine topping ingredients in a bowl.
  5. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle topping over apples evenly.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Best served warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
