Ingredients
  

Casserole
  • 1.5 lbs green beans trimmed, halved; or 4 cups frozen
  • 6 slices bacon chopped
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 10.5 oz
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Topping
  • 1.5 cups crispy fried onions

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Boil green beans for 4–5 minutes, drain, and cool.
  3. Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy; remove and reserve 1 tbsp fat.
  4. Sauté mushrooms and onions in bacon fat until softened.
  5. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  6. Mix soup, milk, sour cream, parmesan, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  7. Stir in beans, bacon, mushrooms, and onions.
  8. Transfer to baking dish, top with fried onions, and bake 25–30 minutes.

Notes

Add cheese for extra richness or jalapeños for spice.
