Ingredients
  

Sauce Base
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups mushrooms sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until soft and translucent.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until golden and tender.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream.
  7. Add Parmesan cheese and thyme, stirring until sauce thickens.
  8. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  9. Serve warm over steak, chicken, pasta, or vegetables.

Notes

For deeper flavor, use a mix of cremini and portobello mushrooms.
