Brownies
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1.25 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup mini chocolate chips optional
Frosting
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk or cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • green gel food coloring
  • holiday sprinkles
  • star candies optional
  • pretzel sticks for tree trunks

Method
 

  1. Mix melted butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla.
  2. Add cocoa, flour, and salt; mix until combined.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 28–32 minutes and cool completely.
  4. Cut brownies into Christmas tree shapes and insert pretzel trunks.
  5. Beat frosting ingredients, tint green, and pipe onto brownies.
  6. Decorate with sprinkles and star candies.

Notes

Chilling the brownies helps create cleaner cuts. Use gel food coloring for best color.
