Ingredients
  

Cookie Base
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Topping
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1.5 cups shredded coconut
  • 1 cup pecans chopped

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line pan.
  2. Mix wet ingredients then dry ingredients for dough.
  3. Press dough into pan and bake 12–15 minutes.
  4. Cook topping ingredients until thickened.
  5. Spread topping and bake another 15–18 minutes.

Notes

Cool completely before slicing for clean bars.
