Ingredients
  

Treat Base
  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows about 6 cups
  • 0.25 cup unsulphured molasses
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1.5 tsp ground ginger
  • 0.5 tsp ground cloves
  • 0.5 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
Optional Topping
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips melted
  • holiday sprinkles for garnish

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • 9×13 baking pan
  • Spatula
  • Parchment paper

Method
 

  1. Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper or grease lightly.
  2. Melt butter in a large pot over low heat.
  3. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in molasses, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, and salt.
  5. Fold in crispy rice cereal until evenly coated.
  6. Press mixture evenly into prepared pan using a buttered spatula.
  7. Optional: Drizzle with melted white chocolate and add sprinkles.
  8. Cool completely, then cut into squares.

Notes

Store in airtight container up to 5 days. For extra gooey treats, add reserved marshmallows with cereal.
