Ingredients
  

Gumdrops
  • 1 cup fruit juice any flavor
  • 2.5 tbsp unflavored gelatin
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 drops food coloring optional
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar for coating

Equipment

  • 8x8 baking dish

Method
 

  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment and lightly grease.
  2. Combine fruit juice and sprinkle gelatin on top; let bloom for 5 minutes.
  3. Add sugar and heat over medium until dissolved, stirring constantly.
  4. Add optional food coloring.
  5. Pour mixture into prepared dish and allow to set for 2–3 hours.
  6. Cut into shapes and roll in granulated sugar.

Notes

Allow gumdrops to sit uncovered for a few hours after coating for a firmer texture.
