Vanilla Cupcakes
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 eggs large
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
Vanilla Buttercream
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
Decoration
  • holiday sprinkles
  • edible pearls
  • mini christmas toppers

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line cupcake pan with liners.
  2. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla; mix until just combined.
  5. Fill liners 2/3 full and bake 18–20 minutes.
  6. Beat butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar gradually.
  7. Add cream and vanilla; beat until fluffy.
  8. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes.
  9. Decorate with sprinkles and toppers.

Notes

Split frosting into different colors for a festive look.
