Flatbread Base
  • 2 large naan or flatbreads
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Toppings
  • 1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 0.5 lb Italian sausage mild or hot
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano
Hot Honey
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 1-2 tsp red pepper flakes
Garnish
  • fresh arugula or basil

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F with baking sheet inside.
  2. Infuse honey with red pepper flakes over low heat.
  3. Cook and crumble Italian sausage in skillet until browned.
  4. Mix ricotta with garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  5. Brush flatbreads with olive oil, spread ricotta mixture.
  6. Top with sausage, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
  7. Bake 10-12 minutes until crispy and melted.
  8. Drizzle with hot honey and garnish with arugula.

Notes

Use store-bought hot honey for faster prep. Adjust flakes for desired spice level.
