- Warm milk and steep Earl Grey tea for 10 minutes. Cool fully.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare cake pans.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and Earl Grey milk until batter forms.
- Bake 28–32 minutes, then cool completely.
- Prepare frosting by steeping cream with Earl Grey and whipping with butter, sugar, and vanilla.
- Assemble cake and frost with Earl Grey buttercream.
Notes
Steeping the tea longer creates a deeper London Fog flavor without bitterness when kept below boiling.
