- Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in broth and heavy cream, then add salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Add uncooked pasta directly into the pot and ensure it is mostly submerged.
- Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.
- Cook uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
- Stir in remaining butter and parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Continue stirring until the sauce becomes silky and coats the pasta.
- Garnish with parsley and extra parmesan before serving.
Notes
Use freshly grated parmesan for the smoothest sauce and add a splash of broth if the pasta becomes too thick while reheating.
