Casserole Base
  • 1 loaf day-old bread cubed
  • 8 eggs large
  • 2 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar

  • 9x13 baking dish
  • Mixing bowl

Method
 

  1. Grease baking dish and add bread cubes.
  2. Whisk custard ingredients and pour over bread.
  3. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  4. Drizzle with butter and bake until golden.
  5. Cool slightly and serve.

Notes

Use day-old bread for best texture.
