Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks fresh or canned in juice
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 pinch salt

Method
 

  1. Rinse cranberries and discard any soft ones.
  2. Combine cranberries, pineapple, sugar, water, and orange juice in a saucepan.
  3. Add orange zest, cinnamon stick, and salt.
  4. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat once thickened and cranberries have burst.
  7. Discard cinnamon stick and cool before serving.

Notes

Sauce thickens as it cools. Adjust sweetness to taste.
