  • 3 leeks cleaned and sliced
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced, optional
  • 0.5 tsp salt to taste
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced leeks and stir to coat evenly.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add garlic during the last 2 minutes if using.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, then serve warm.

Notes

Cook leeks gently for best texture and sweetness.
