Ingredients
  

Brisket
  • 3-4 lb beef brisket
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Season brisket with spices and sear on both sides.
  2. Place onions and garlic in slow cooker and add brisket.
  3. Mix sauce ingredients and pour over brisket.
  4. Cook on low 8 to 10 hours or high 5 to 6 hours.
  5. Slice against the grain and serve with juices.

Notes

Always slice against the grain for tenderness. Cooking low and slow is essential for best results.
