Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 2 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
Marinade
  • 0.75 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice fresh
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1.5 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1.25 tsp salt
  • 0.75 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Whisk yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and spices together.
  2. Coat chicken thoroughly with marinade.
  3. Place chicken in slow cooker and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  4. Shred chicken and return to cooking juices.
  5. Optional: Broil shredded chicken for crisp edges before serving.

Notes

Broiling the shredded chicken adds traditional shawarma texture and flavor.
