Ingredients
  

Chicken Marinade
  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs cut into chunks
  • 0.5 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 0.5 tsp turmeric
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Butter Chicken Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1.5 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp chili powder optional
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Mix yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, garam masala, turmeric, and salt. Coat chicken and marinate.
  2. Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger in butter until soft.
  3. Add onion mixture, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and spices to the slow cooker.
  4. Add marinated chicken and stir gently.
  5. Cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  6. Stir in heavy cream during the last 20 minutes.
  7. Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice or naan.

Notes

Adjust spice level with additional chili powder or cayenne.
