Ingredients
  

Tuna Salad
  • 2 cans tuna in water drained
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 jalapeño finely diced
  • to taste salt and pepper
Sandwich Assembly
  • 4 slices sandwich bread sourdough or choice
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter softened

Equipment

  • Skillet or griddle
  • Spatula
  • Mixing bowl

Method
 

  1. Mix tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and jalapeño in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  3. Layer tuna salad and shredded cheddar on unbuttered sides of bread, then top with remaining slices, buttered side out.
  4. Cook sandwiches on a skillet over medium heat until bread is golden and cheese melts, about 3–4 minutes per side.
  5. Slice in half, garnish if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust jalapeño quantity for desired heat. Use pepper jack for extra spicy flavor.
