  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans lightly toasted
Optional Glaze
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour loaf pan.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mixing until combined.
  6. Fold in chopped pecans and pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
  8. Optional: Prepare glaze by melting butter, sugar, and milk in a saucepan. Drizzle over warm bread.

Notes

Bread can be stored in airtight container at room temperature for 3–4 days.
