Ingredients
  

Pizza
  • 1 ball pizza dough homemade or store-bought
  • 1.5 cups fresh mozzarella torn or sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 lemon zested
  • 0.25 tsp sea salt
  • 0.125 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano
  • fresh basil for topping
  • red pepper flakes optional

Equipment

  • Pizza stone or baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Microplane zester
  • Rolling pin or hands for stretching dough

Method
 

  1. Let pizza dough rest at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C) with a pizza stone inside if using.
  3. Mix olive oil and minced garlic in a small bowl.
  4. Stretch dough into a 10–12 inch circle and transfer to a floured peel or parchment.
  5. Brush dough with garlic olive oil and add mozzarella evenly across the top.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and lemon zest.
  7. Bake 10–12 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
  8. Remove from oven and top with fresh basil and optional chili flakes.

Notes

Add ricotta or Parmesan for extra richness.
