Brownies
  • 1 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.33 cup molasses
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp cloves
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Frosting
  • 0.5 cup cream cheese softened
  • 0.25 cup butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare baking pan.
  2. Mix butter, sugars, eggs, molasses, and vanilla.
  3. Combine dry ingredients separately.
  4. Mix wet and dry ingredients into batter.
  5. Bake 20–25 minutes and cool completely.
  6. Prepare frosting and spread over brownies.

Notes

Do not overbake for fudgy texture.
