Ingredients
  

Burger Patties
  • 2 cups mushrooms finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
Assembly
  • 4 Swiss cheese slices
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced for topping
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 4 lettuce leaves

Method
 

  1. Cook chopped mushrooms, onion, and garlic in olive oil for 6–8 minutes until moisture evaporates.
  2. Combine cooked mixture with breadcrumbs, egg, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Form into four patties and chill briefly if needed.
  4. Cook patties in a skillet 4–5 minutes per side until golden.
  5. Add Swiss cheese slices and cover until melted.
  6. Sauté sliced mushrooms in butter until browned.
  7. Assemble burgers with lettuce, patty, sautéed mushrooms, and toasted buns.

Notes

Chilling the patties briefly helps them hold together better during cooking.
